Associated with the University of Toronto and Queen’s University, Humber River Hospital is one of Canada’s largest regional acute care hospitals. With new redevelopment plans, this innovative, fully digital hospital plans to be a technological and environmental showcase, encompassing a variety of in-patient and outpatient care services. Humber River Hospital is not only Ontario’s first Centre of Excellence for laparoscopic bariatric surgery but also home to Canada’s first nocturnal dialysis program. The project was delivered under Infrastructure Ontario’s DBFM model and we acted on behalf of the client, as part of the Planning, Design and Compliance (PDC) team and provided mechanical engineering services for the master planning and schematic design of this new facility.
