Situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, Ripley’s Aquarium is one of the most recent and anticipated attractions. Designed to create a dramatic landmark in Toronto, the building boasts an avant-garde architectural form. The aquarium is home to 16,000 animals and features a unique walk-through tank with 5.7-million litres of marine and freshwater habitats from across the world. The building features a multi-faceted shell clad in large aluminium panels and has a roof that ‘gives the illusion of the earth’s crust peeling away to reveal a window into the aquatic world.’
